My feet are hurting.

Well, as I have been without internet, busy moving, and starting the new job; I unfortunately have not had time to post. I am very happy to say that I am moved into the apartment that I will be at for the remainder of the summer. I also am very happy to say that I LOVE MY JOB. The people I am working with are all so nice, and all so welcoming. It has been so great and to say the least, I am super pumped about getting my hands dirty this summer! I am also super pumped to say that I am loving the city. Everyone keeps asking me what I am doing, what I am seeing, but really I dont even know where to begin. I need to start checking everything about the city out more. I really want to see central park, I really want to go see a play, I really want to be able to do everything! I will say I feel very unequipped for everything that is going on at Anthropologie, everyone is an amazing artist, and I am at about the 3rd grade stay inside the lines. dang it, I knew I should have taken an art class last semester. I am suppose to meet one of my roommates at trader joes to get groceries, so I dont have to keep spending so much money eating out! wahhooooo! I will be updating this later with pictures and a more detailed description of what I am doing!

Fun in the Sun.

Today was such a great day! It started bright and early with a trip to the Upper East Side to attend morning service at Apostles. I was really glad I went, it seems like a great environment, and a place that will really challenge me this summer. I also finally got to meet Derek Devine, a name I have been hearing since I found out about NYC. I also made my first trip in the city alone....and survived! I was so happy, and it was surprisingly easy, however I didn't have to transfer trains, so we will see the day that happens. After church I tried to hurry home as fast as I could, but of course when you need to move the fastest, you get lost. haha I was going west instead of east. Which I later learned that as you go east....it gets smaller, west....gets larger. People coming, take notes. Then I headed to the beach with my new roomies! It was such a nice day...although now I am a red burning lobster...so hopefully that will quickly change because I cannot show up to work looking ridiculously, although I have a HUGE pimple on my forehead...so no worries there, looking gross on day one is already covered. dang it, zits in NYC is NOT acceptable, my skin didn't get that memo though. All people reading this....which prob is just me checking it after I post...check out the pictures and see if you see anything certain, I got quite the FULL MOON on the beach today. After leaving the beach we picked up some food and now are back at the apartment, finishing packing, and dreading the day tomorrow. We have alot of stuff to move, however it is going to be good, because we will officially be in our new place! wahhhoooooo! I cannot wait to start work on Tuesday. Bring on the excitement.

Night in the apartment with take out.

So today started off a little late, but it was so nice to be able to sleep in. We ate breakfast at the apartment and then heading out to Yoga for the People. It was this awesome Yoga place that is donation run and has so really amazing yoga! One of my roommates for the summer Erin, is an instructor there and needless to say...I was far from a professional. But look out CS, after this summer I am bringing the Yoga. future candidates...I will be searching for sunrise yoga partners. After yoga we went to Jamba Juice and Whole Foods. Which although Whole Foods is highly over priced, they no doubt have the BEST items to pick up for lunch. Which I have come to the conclusion that Brie cheese is my favorite kind of cheese to eat. Also I think I have pulled a muscle on the side of my foot, as every-time I walk a shooting pain goes on...not quite sure how to handle this, but hopefully it will disappear. We were out and about all day long. Shipping boxes, packing boxes, loading boxes....and still more to do! Its fine with me though because come monday I will officially be in the apartment that I will be living at for the summer which is very exciting. This tiny little apartment isn't really liking all the boxes everywhere and living out of a suite case isn't the most ideal situation, but we are dealing and having an awesome time. I am really excited and anxious to finally start work though. BIG NEWS...I got my acceptance letter to Midland Community College! Wahhhhooooo! Bring it on Elementary Spanish. Tomorrow morning will be interested, and my first time to use the subway system alone...this should be interesting. I am planning on attending Apostles Church, but we will see if I make it after figuring out the subway! Also after church we are planning on heading out to the beach! Sun is much needed on my body before I start work. Brooke Foster....please sent me your skin, thanks and gig'em. I also really want to try and go to Central Park tomorrow! We will just see where the day leads us

Facing the City

Running, Grubbing and playing around NYC! Today has been such a great day. I would say this was my real first day in the city. We started off the morning really early with a run around this really cool park and a harbor. It was something that has been needing to come for a really long time, as all I have been doing over the past month or more is eating Chipotle and drinking as many DDP as I could. I also have finally met all of Monique's roommates, and I am really looking forward to getting to spend the summer living with them, Erin and Chloe. I also was wearing an Aggie shirt this morning and got a Whoop from a women pushing her stroller, always good to hear that! I also ate this HUGE chocolate cupcake from Crumbs today. really good. We also got to walk around times square, where i was spotted multiple times as a tourist.dang it. goal before I leave is to become more New York.Took my first subway in NYC as well today, which I have a bad feeling that I am going to have a hard time with this summer Tonight we are playing on heading over to Brooklyn to see one of our friends Taylor Steinberg whose band is playing. I am super pumped to get to see him and see where else we get to go tonight. Also unfortunately the girls moving into their new apartment got push back until Monday! O well, some goals for the weekend are to try and find some Glee live tickets....if you have them I will pay the big bucks for them.

Here we go...head first. Day One

Well...I am currently sitting in my friend Monique's apartment, packing boxes and watching out the window as it is raining. I still cannot believe that I am actually here in New York City. I have been dreaming of coming here for quite along time...and we have arrived. As I am going to be subleasing from Monique this summer, I am going to be helping her and her roommates move into their new, 2 level apartment! I am so excited to get to help them move, paint and get all settled in. We are just a little hot in their old apartment right now however, as their a/c unit fell out of the window....wish I was kidding. But none the less we are making it! I am very sleepy as this morning started off at roughly around 3am. Followed by a sleep-filled flight, and an afternoon of sight seeing with Monique. I have really missed her and it has been great to spend some time catching up with old friends. We ate at this amazing Italian Restaurant. I got to see where I will be working over the next two months as well which was very exciting. Since it is raining and we are tired from the day, I think we are going to be ordering in, and hanging out around the apartment for the night....excited yes! I am apprehensive to be writing this as I am not quite sure what all to say just yet, but we are going to be letting it flow! Enjoy.
